About Kinda Municipality

Kinda Municipality is located in southern Östergötland and belongs to the picturesque area of East Sweden. Here, nearly 10,000 residents live, and the municipality is the largest employer with over 1,000 employees.

We offer the best of both worlds - the safety and community of a small town, while the big city is only 45 minutes away. With frequent express buses, you can quickly reach Linköping, a regional growth engine with an airport and good train connections to the rest of the country. Norrköping and Vimmerby are also within comfortable distance.

The Role of Municipal Director

As the municipal director, you are a key person in turning the municipality's vision into reality. You lead the municipal board's administration and work closely with the municipal council and other managers in the organization. Your task is to develop and coordinate operations and ensure that the municipality's overall goals are achieved - always with the residents' best interests in focus.

Kinda is a well-managed municipality with competent and dedicated employees. As the municipal director, you are expected to drive progress in several important areas:

• Attractive community planning and sustainable growth
• Business establishment and economic development
• Effective digitization and modern working methods
• Good service to citizens
• Good collaboration with regional stakeholders

Who Are You

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to the community, clear leadership, and experience in leading politically governed organizations. You are confident, attentive, and have an easy time building trust - both internally and externally. You are a stable, secure, empathetic, and present leader who can engage and inspire your employees while having the courage to handle conflicts and make uncomfortable decisions when necessary.

You have a holistic view, are analytical, and have the ability to drive development work in complex environments. You have relevant academic education or equivalent experience, as well as excellent communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
